DESCRIPTION: 2nd Sgt. Bryon W. Childress from Philadelphia, PA, who is with the 3rd Regiment Infantry USCT, is wearing a medal on his left side which is a genuine Sons of Union Veterans medal belonging to his great, great grandfather who served in the Union Navy during the Civil War. He served on five gunboats and was wounded at the Battle of Roanoke in VA.
